Hey everyone.
The Ra Horakhty Tarot is in the final stages before printing. Estimated release date is September 15th, 2009. The cards are 3.75" x 5", and the deck is being printed on casino grade stock. The retail price on the deck is $24.99USD (+ shipping/handling.)
A batch of decks from the first run have been put aside to be signed by the artist (that would be me, Jonathan) and are available for pre-sale on the website at http://www.rahorakhtytarot.com. Pre-sold decks are available at 10% off retail price, $22.50USD (+ shipping/handling.)

This is really exciting. The whole project has taken on a life of its own. I feel like I'm on a really tiny surfboard and starting to hydroplane down a REALLY big wave.

Has anyone heard anything about this deck? Or actually gotten one? I did the pre-order, and still haven't seen anything. I emailed him, but didn't hear anything back.
Very fustrating. I swear I will quit this pre-order stuff. I seem to get bit fairly often. (Except for the Rabbit tarot book, it arrived quickly and was really neat!)

Yeah, where is this guy? I'm starting to wonder what is happening.
Seems no one has heard from him since Sept.
For now, I'd advise others to be wait before ordering this deck.

Update posted on goldendawntrust yahoogroup concerning Ra Horakhty Tarot deck
I spoke with Jonathon today and he had some health issues in 2009. The Tarot deck is getting back on track. He will be updating his website in February, see:

He said the deck will be issued in March 2010. Those who pre-paid for the deck will receive copies first. He also wanted to apologize for the delay with the deck and to those who pre-purchased the deck.

I haven't heared anything either. And I actually filed a dispute with PayPal, because I wanted my payment cancelled (decided 45 dollars shipping was too much, I had ordered it in a whim). But he doesn't even answer to the PayPal dispute and now claim.  So I hope PayPal will refund me my money.

Did you use a credit card on your paypal? If so - in the UK at least - they will refund for non-delivery - which it must be, legally, by now !

I ask my credit card company for a refund at these times. PayPal have yet to get me any money back - even when they said once "yes we have determined that the seller is at fault. But we can't get you your money. Byeeee."
I was very annoyed.

The problem with using Paypal to make pre-orders is that your right to claim a refund through non-delivery expires if you have not initiated a dispute and escalated it to aclaim for refund within a certain number of days.
I have successfully gained refunds from Paypal on a number of occasions for ordinary auctions that went wrong when the item did not turn up.
The problem with a pre-order payment is that there is usually no clear date for the artist/publisher to provide you with a copy. Sometimes pre-orders seem to be used by an artist to raise funds to print their deck. I would suggest that this is an erroneous strategy, as people without sufficient funds to print their deck, may be tempted to use the advance payments on their ongoing living expenses, and then later be unable to print the deck, as they will have exhausted the small number of collectors willing to make advance payments.
After the recent problems with pre-orders it might be a good idea for collectors not to respond to such requests or else get a clear contract of obligation to supply.
