I was in London yesterday, & got to see Suzanne Treister's Hexen 2.0 exhibitions at the Science Museum & Work Gallery.
The outstanding work, on show in the former, & available for sale at both venues, is her Tarot deck:
http://ensemble.va.com.au/Treister/HEXEN2/TAROT_COL/HEXEN_2_TAROT.html
To cut through the complexity and allusiveness of her work, she's basically concerned with systems that try to interconnect everything (hence her interest in occultism & cybernetics) & with their potential use for both social control and human liberation.
I think this is the great deck of our era, no kidding.
Thanks so much to Stefan for alerting me to this on his blog.
Paul.

I too admire her work and her incorporation of alchemical imagery.
The designs may be rather postmodern for those drawn to traditional imagery.Last edited on Fri Apr 27th, 2012 04:10 pm by AdamMcLean

I have this deck - and the book, which does NOT explain the cards, in case anyone expected it to - just saying - and I REALLY like both. FASCINATING.

not a tarot in the classical or usual way, but an artist way to explore the world and visualize her theories through the looking glass called Tarot

I love the artwork of this deck.
I do not yet own it.
If the book doesn't explain it, what is the book about?
Does it have awesome pictures of all the cards?

Great artwork, great deck, by chance a couple of hours ago I had the opportunity to meet the artist briefly and to watch some of the wonderful original drawings (or quality reproductions) which were part of an exhibition at a place where I give lessons once a week.
She told me the book and deck should be for sale there so I'll probably get one.
Here are a couple of (bad) pictures

Interestingly (or not ?!) one of her cards (Hermit) is also a "member" of the Outrageous Fortune deck travelling round the UK right now (In Stranraer till the end of October.)
I want a copy of that deck - but the only ones made were given to the artists for them to give to a friend.... I did take photos of all the cards, but when they have glass over them, it's hard to get good images without a reflection of whatever is behind you - or worse yet, of YOU and your camera !

The deck Gregory is talking about is this one, I think:
http://www.focalpoint.org.uk/exhibitions/forthcoming/31/
in which the Hermit card is the same as the Hermit in Hexen 2.0
Hexen 2.0 being easily available on Amazon,
Outrageous Fortune being the deck that is for-artists-only.
From what I understand.

That's the one - I so want that deck. I have all the images in a nasty shade of red in the booklet - but it's not the same ! And not all the cards are on the website Mind you as the magician was a moving screen....
The Hexen I have. Weird !! Very conspiracy theory stuff.Last edited on Wed Oct 3rd, 2012 03:48 pm by gregory

With a special numbered edition of 1,000 printed decks given away to recipients nominated by the artists, I would expect many of these will end up on the secondhand market over the next year or so. 1,000 is, after all, a large edition.

Patience please!
I feel sure they will appear in time. The exhibition has not yet closed after all.

WELL - I am deeply proud to say that I have just been nominated to receive a copy of the Outrageous Fortune deck ! Yay me .
My appalling reputation as a collector can sometimes pay off
